We were shopping and decided to try Makoto. Can't say we disliked anything we tried but my wife loved the Lychee martini. - Tuna Crispy Rice: These were good but we didn't enjoy what we called the Tuna paste. It would have been better if they did chopped tuna or minced tuna like most places. - Fire and Ice Oysters: These were great! No complaints about these Oysters. - Octopus: The texture was great but it was slightly on the salty side. - Frosty Wagyu Fried Rice: Rice was perfectly cooked and the flavor was good. This is not your usual fried rice. This dish comes out seperated in a bowl and the serve mixes everything at the table for you. - Braised Beef Yaki Noodle: This was our favorite dish of the night.

I have so so much to say about Makoto and it's all amazing! I'll start off by saying the customer service is very on point, elegant and polished from beginning to end. Their lychee martinis are the ONLY ones you NEED to be drinking, any other place you order a lychee martini after drinking a lychee martini in Makoto I can guarantee you it will NOT be good, standards were set and they were set extremely high, very easy to drink 10 of them without realizing what you have done until you get up because it's time to visit the bathroom (happened only once, I know better know a good 8 of them will do if you can hold your liquor like me if not please no more than 4 ) As for the food????? Omg HELLOOOOO?!?!? Who is COOKING? They love their job, you can tell when a chef enjoys their job because it reflects on the food and at Makoto that's all you'll find. The crispy rice being the best I've had #1 in my list actually. We also had their Braised Beef Yaki Noodles you guysssss, they literally melt in your mouth I really wish I was exaggerating but I promise I'm not, you HAVE to try them and be delighted in the flavors ‍ the Dynamite Hand Roll's crab was very fresh and while at first I was a little hesitant by the second bite I was dancing in my chair. We also had Frosty Wagyu Fried Rice ( I added a video to demonstrate the server breaking up the egg to mix it at the table) the flavors compliment each other very well and after this it is definitely lights out. It is a sharing portion for sure unless you plan on only having this one dish I would suggest you grab a second plate to split with your party as it is very filling and decently big. Their Okinawan Tres Leches is mind blowing!!!!!!! I love a good tres leches and they definitely moved the bar up when it comes to expectations of good food, everything we have tried so far has been amazing and I'll continue being a huge advocate for Makoto. The vibes are always amazing, great music, people are WELL DRESSED (don't you dare show up wearing rags or shorts just please have taste, nobody wants to see an eye sore when dining at a place like this, be serious and dress up.) all in all Makoto is a place you must visit when in Bal Harbour be it for lunch or dinner just bring your pretty self and they'll provide the vibes and the food till next time!

Makoto definitely lived up to the hype. I've been wanting to try it forever, and I'm so glad I did. We had the wagyu fried rice, wagyu yaki noodles, crispy tuna rice, rainbow rolls, and a bunch of cocktails to celebrate a birthday! What a fun ambiance and everything was so delicious. We were part of a large party, and our server made sure everything was brought out quickly and paid excellent attention to us. I can't wait to come back and try everything. Perfect spot for a celebratory dinner!

This place was amazing the food ambiance was warm and cool. The service was good the waiters were very attentive coming to clean up the table and getting us new plates between meals! The drinks were delicious the only think was that we were such a large group is too awhile to get the drinks. We ordered to share a bunch of items the salmon on crispy rice was amazing one of the best I have had. The fried pepper were also good but was more batter than the actual pepper. The mains were amazing between the noodles and the rice. The sushi rolls were also so amazing and came with a good amount for staring! Though the fried was okay there was nothing special about it ! I would definitely return for amazing vibes and food.

Food was so delicious and I loved the aesthetics and ambiance of the dining room! Super cute! Wasn't too loud which I enjoyed. Service was mid took a while for the server to acknowledge us and then our dish was ran to the wrong table so it took a long time to get the replacement. The chicken skewers were juicy and flavorful, truffle salmon was great, crispy rice was yummy as well. Would definitely go back

Everything was so delicious, we're local to this area so we come often. I give four stars because sometimes the fish in the nigir sushi style isn't always consistent with the quality. However, lately it has been very good! The ambiance is quiet nice too there is outdoor & indoor seating & there is a dj playing on the weekends :)

Makato at Bal Harbour came highly recommended by every sales assistant we spoke to, so we couldn't resist trying it out--and I'm so glad we did! We ordered the salmon truffle, scallop sushi, Wagyu skewers, rock shrimp, and the passionfruit mint mocktail. Mostly everything was phenomenal, especially for small plates that pack a punch of flavor. The salmon truffle was my mom's favorite--rich and flavorful. As for me, the Wagyu skewers were melt-in-your-mouth tender. They were so perfectly cooked that I didn't even want to add any sauce. While the sushi was good, I'll probably try a different kind next time because their selection is extensive. The rock shrimp, was good though I felt like it could have been elevated with a sauce, as it seemed to be missing that extra layer of flavor. The passionfruit mint mocktail, though, was an absolute standout--refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The service was excellent, and the staff was very attentive. The seating is intimate, with tables set quite close to each other, but luckily, we didn't have anyone seated nearby, which worked out perfectly for us since we had a lot of shopping bags. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm excited to return and try more dishes!
